      National Capital witnessed thick layer of smog on November 05. Krishna Menon Lane and Rail Bhawan got covered in thick layer leading to low visibility. The air quality in the national capital on Diwali deteriorated from the upper end of the ‘very poor’ category to its lower end, almost touching the ‘severe’ category. Despite the Delhi government's ban on firecrackers, several people were seen bursting crackers, contributing to the degradation of the air quality, amid increased contribution from farm fires.

      The air quality in the national capital on Diwali deteriorated from the upper end of the "very poor" category to its lower end, almost touching the "severe" category. Despite the Delhi government's ban on firecrackers, several people were seen bursting crackers on street on the occasion of Diwali, contributing to the degradation of the air quality, amid increased contribution from farm fires. The sky here hung heavy with smoke, and the visibility was also affected. As a layer of smog enveloped the Delhi skies, several people here complained of itchy throat and watery eyes.

    • Delhi air pollution: As winter approaches, AQI deteriorates in national capital
      As winters is about to make landfall in the northern India, a layer of smog surrounded parts of Delhi. Pollution was recorded to have increased. Delhi’s overall air quality was grouped in ‘very poor’ category on October 30, as per System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research, Ministry of Earth Science. SDMC is working on a war footing to mitigate the effect of bad air quality.
